Senior Manager Engineering – Piney Flats, TN

The Senior Manager of Engineering is a leadership role that encompasses all aspects of design, test, civil certification/validation, product support, manufacturing support, and customization of helicopters.

This role requires a strategic, dynamic leader who can innovate processes, effectively manage and develop engineering resources, collaborate across Bell functions and sites, and maintain a strong relationship with the FAA and other regulatory bodies.

What you’ll be doing as Senior Manager Engineering

  • Lead a skilled engineering team to fully develop, certify, field, and support aviation products

  • Partner with Bell leadership to define and execute multi-year strategies that advance and grow the aftermarket business

  • Ensure engineering teams perform accurate and compliant structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses in alignment with industry standards and Bell requirements

  • Champion effective project management practices to deliver projects on schedule and within budget

  • Communicate proactively and collaboratively across Bell functions and sites to support enterprise-wide business objectives

  • Develop, mentor, and coach team members to promote career growth while achieving organizational goals

  • Maintain and strength FAA relationships while securing approvals for MRAs, STCs, and Amended Type Certificates.

  • Enhance customer satisfaction through robust product support engineering for Aeronautical Accessories offerings

  • Provide engineering support for Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) production

  • Manage and continuously improve engineering processes to ensure the development of safe, reliable, and high-quality products.

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Skills You Bring to this Role:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

  • Master's degree preferred

  • 15 years of engineering experience with product development with helicopter and aircraft systems

  • 5 years’ experience in a leadership role

  • Experience in project management

  • Knowledge and understanding of FAA regulations preferred

  • Effective communication skills
