Purpose of the role
As a Global Account Manager at Awin, you are responsible for managing multiple clients worldwide! From our office in the center of Amsterdam, you’ll liaise with some of the most demanding but also most interesting affiliate programmes in our network. In short, the perfect place to develop further as an affiliate specialist.
As a Global Account Manager you are part of a team that operates from various Awin offices. You will collaborate with your colleagues in Amsterdam, as well as team members spread across the globe. You will receive support from Account Executives and interns, so you must be able to delegate your work. In addition, you will work with different teams within Awin to ensure the client achieves the best ROI from their affiliate programmes and sees the benefits of partnering with an affiliate network like Awin.
No two days are the same in this role. You act as the main point of contact for the client, with (global) strategic coordination and alignment as a core task. Ensuring consistent quality of account management across all regions where the client is active is also crucial.
In this position, you will regularly deliver presentations and hold meetings with your clients (primarily in English), and you will have frequent interaction with top publishers. We are looking for someone who feels comfortable building relationships and navigating the affiliate marketing industry. Collaboration with various types of publishers is central, and you will need to think creatively and strategically. When faced with challenging situations, it’s important to remain calm.

Key responsibilities
Major responsibilities include:
- Manage and optimize the affiliate programmes in your portfolio to meet client needs.
- Advise your client on optimization opportunities by analysing results.
- Maintain strong relationships with top publishers in your clients’ programmes to understand their needs for successful collaboration.
- Take a proactive approach to problem solving and escalate issues to the appropriate team level when necessary.
- Work independently on tailored reports and ensure proper documentation for the client.
- Participate in client and networking events to maintain client relationships. You will also visit your clients regularly.
- Co-own the global affiliate strategy for all regions where the client is active.
What we expect
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Experience in account management within affiliate/digital marketing is a plus.
- Understanding of what makes a good/bad affiliate programme and how to improve an affiliate campaign.
- Insight into key metrics/results for programmes and why they matter for a client’s affiliate programme at Awin.
- Understanding of why certain publishers may be suitable/unsuitable for specific clients and/or sectors.
- Knowledge of how affiliate marketing fits into the broader online marketing mix.
- Insight into the pros and cons of the CPA/CPL model compared to other models such as CPC or CPM.
- Experience presenting commercial content to internal and external audiences.
- Strong and professional communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to exchange information clearly and concisely in both English and Dutch.
- An approachable attitude, with the ability to multitask and set priorities.
