Find Your 4-Day Work Week

As Animation Team Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Lead (CP) or Production Manager (PM) in managing the quality and meeting deadlines for your small team. You will collaborate in monitoring your team’s work, coach them, and validate production results, while also maintaining some game development tasks under your responsibility (if applicable).

What you will do:

• Create, prioritize, assign and track daily tasks and your team’s work progress based on deliverables
• Act as your team’s representative
• Organize and manage team meetings
• Learn the game’s story, gameplay, and cinematics (game design documents) and master technical and/or artistic constraints to properly guide and coach your team
• Provide periodic updates to the CP/PM on your team’s task progress and propose corrective actions when necessary to meet objectives
• Anticipate and address potential conflicts and suggest solutions to the CP/PM for problem solving within your team
• Serve as a technical and/or artistic mentor for your team members, if applicable
• Participate in performance reviews in collaboration with the CP/PM
• Coordinate bug fixes related to your team’s work
• Ensure the integration of new hires into your team
• Participate in recruitment to grow your team
• Produce portions of the animation yourself

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in video game animation
• Relevant experience in animation and team management
• Strong understanding of animation principles, game engines, production pipelines, and their constraints
• Proficiency in animation software (preferred: MotionBuilder)
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with motion capture workflows
• Knowledge of game engines/tools and production pipelines
